A certified site assessor is an environmental professional recognized by the Association québécoise de vérification environnementale (AQVE) with experience, training and professional qualifications to ensure the effective management of the environmental site assessment process.

The AQVE considers that ESAtm professionals are able to conduct environmental site assessments and sign issued reports.

Certified site assessors must also comply with the AQVE’s guide to sound environmental practice and conduct environmental site assessments in accordance with recognized guides and standards of practice.

The ESAtm title is also recognized by the major financial institutions in Quebec, CMHC and the Standards Council of Canada (CCN) and by several other private and public bodies.
